Ashmole Rowlands & Co, Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisers, have acquired Cardiff based O’Brien & Partners, Chartered Accountants, as part of their plans to expand across South Wales. Lewis Van Emden, Partner at Ashmole Rowlands & Co, Chartered Accountants, said “We have set ambitious growth targets for the rapidly expanding business which has already doubled in size, with continued growth and recruitment drives planned in 2009. We will continue to bring new, leading edge services to all clients, including our innovative tax strategies. Maintaining and building on the level of client service that we provide is of utmost importance and an integral part of our business strategy. There are exciting times ahead of us. We believe that successful businesses stay fresh and reinvent themselves. They do not, however, lose sight of their core values, such as providing an effective success driven service, based on the real needs of clients and the results that they wish to achieve. Another well known organisation that has expanded and reinvented itself recently is the South Wales Chamber of Commerce. We have mirrored them in that we are now also serving Cardiff based enterprises through O’Brien & Partners, adding to our existing geographical coverage – Abergavenny, Newport and the surrounding area. We will be working with the Chamber closely again in the next year as main sponsors of the Business Week, building on the close involvement that Lyn and I have had in the main sponsorship of the Chambers of Commerce Business week in 2007 and 2008.” Lyn Griffiths, Partner at the Chartered Accountancy practice, Ashmole Rowlands & Co, commented “The positive effects for businesses of all sizes that the Chamber can provide are innumerable, and we encourage people to take advantage of the benefits of Chamber membership.” Ken Doel commenting on behalf of O’Brien & Partners, the well established practice that works with some of the leading businesses in South Wales, said “Our service is uninterrupted and the team remains unchanged. Both practices have a very similar culture, which will complement the service experience. Ashmole Rowlands & Co’s services will widen our already comprehensive portfolio, enhancing the range of solutions that we are able to offer” Patrick Long, Head of the South Wales Chamber, said “Ashmole Rowlands & Co are a forward thinking practice, committed to the welfare of local enterprises, and have a strong belief in and also promote the value of strategic alliances. In the current economic climate never has working with, and mutually supporting likeminded positive businesses been more important. We are looking forward to working with Lewis and Lyn in 2009 and beyond, and appreciate the support that they bring to the Chamber and our members”.
